Richard that was amazing! Are you working on the dance moves too? The Temps were one of my favorite groups. Just being so cool!

Do not regret growing old for it means that you have lived a long life which is a privilege denied to many.

Thanks for the positive comments about the music.  Bobbi and I appreciate your encouraging words.

Greg, my dance moves would definitely not be a positive addition to the music.  Ah, but The Temptations, like most of the motown groups, were not just great singers, but they had all of the moves and were as smooth as could be.

I always thought that quicksand was going to be a much bigger problem than it turned out to be.

Because if you watch cartoons, quicksand is like the third biggest thing you have to worry about in adult life, behind real sticks of dynamite and giant anvils falling on you from the sky.

I have wanted some kind of camping vehicle for some time and early this spring I finally bought a camper van. I have used it to visit a number of places in Oregon this year. As part of my trips, I have been making videos which I have posted on YouTube. I thought that some of my classmates might be interested in a virtual trip to Oregon, so I have included below one of my favorites trips, Sunset Bay State Park on the rugged southern Oregon Coast. If you are interested in looking at any of my other travel videos, they can be found on YouTube at:

(I have also posted this message on my profile page)

Richard, 3 of the last 5 years we have driven our motorhome to Oregon.  Last year we spent a month at the Heceta Beach RV Campground in Florence, exploring up and down the coast.  Amazingly beautiful.  If you will be traveling again, consider joining Harvest Hosts.  The "hosts" are vineyards, farms, golf courses, breweries, etc that allow for overnight stays with the only "fee" being purchasing some of their products.  You must be self contained...no electricity, water or wifi but we certainly never felt "short changed" by not having those amenities.  Never too old to enjoy the wonders of our world.

Just now enjoyed Richard and his wife's lovely guitar duet.  Just wonderful positive vibe!

Thanks!

Skip, thanks for the suggestion.   My camper van is self contained and I like dry camping.  No connections means nothing to connect and disconnect when arriving and leaving.  Makes things easy. I have solar panels that maintain battery power for some time.  Of course, time at the coast often includes cloudy weather, so solar may not be so useful under those circumstance.

Wow Richard, bravo for the work you've done documenting your travels!  You've inspired me to get up to the Oregon coast with my equipment!!!

Jerry & Charlie, thanks for the positive feedback.  I enjoy trying to capture on video some of the interesting aspects of places I visit.  And Charlie, as you suggested earlier on this page about playing music, hopefully it is "...good for der brain".

Richard, I just listened to your duet and watched the video.  Both were amazing.  I would love to go back to Oregon again and check out those parks.  So beautiful!  Thank you for sharing.

Things have been slow on the forum lately, so as the holidays approach, I thought I'd be the first to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

My father taught me a lot of things but one thing he never taught me was that it gets a lot harder as you get older. So here's a little something from our past to get your holiday season started with a smile.

I know we've been out of school for a long time, but here's an interesting quiz that figures out where your from based on what you call certain things. Spoiler alert: Mine was spot on.
