THE IMMIGRATION PROBLEM SOLVED!

The Secretary of Homeland Security will announce next month that Immigration and Customs Enforcement will start deporting seniors (instead of illegals) to lower Social Security and Medicare costs. A major study concluded that older people are easier to catch, offer less resistance, and, more importantly, will not remember how to get back home.

Even more important is seniors not able to collect SS and Medicare will help with the budget. No need to change the debt limit for a while.

When you’re young, speed and adrenaline seem to be great. But as you get older and wiser, you learn that comfort and peace are more important.

This is called S.O.S.: Slower, Older and Smarter.

Well small doses of speed and adrenaline may still be OK.  I think that I am developing two thirds of the S.O.S., aka Slower, Older, Smarter.  I am definitely slower and older.  But I think I am headed in the wrong direction on the smarter.

Don't admit to anything like not getting smarter with age! If they want to think we are getting smarter or gaining wisdom with our years of experience, let's let them think that. Who knows, it may just be true!

Joan, good advice.  Attitude is worth a lot.  Keep your chin up and march on. I certainly think that our experiences lead to an accumulation of knowledge and "wisdom" that can help avoid lots of issues.

But I have no doubt that you could still wow a group of students with a lecture on gene expression in the endocrine system...Nothing wrong with your brain! I find, even if I can't recall a certain word, or name, or place, it usually comes to me later!

Joan, I am definitely not eager to return to lecturing students.  Back in the day when I did teach, I got OK student feedback.  Of course you get some interesting comments.  One student noted that I needed to "drink more coffee".  Apparently my voice was too calm for that student.
