Mitch Wise

I need to offer an apology to the reunion committee .   In asking about the Legacy Fund, I learned that several of the committee members, in addition to all the time spent on the planning, paid for many of the portions of the event that made it so special.  Their above board donations, kept the cost down for the rest of us, and made the event so much more special.  These special class members, are truely a blessed group of people.  Thanks again to all of you for your efforts in making this evening a really joyful party.  Best wishes, to all of you.

Mitch

No apology necessary, Mitch.  Your interest and inquiries are appreciated.  Go Rebels!

I have no idea what really went into making the reunion such a success but to all involved, Thank You.

Yes, I was a minor contributor to the legacy fund but assume it will mostly be used to help today's students. From what I saw in those very young cheerleaders, it is a more diverse group than we were, less WASPish so I really want them to succeed. To me that is a good thing. The more the new group is exposed to diversity, the better relations between different groups will be in the future. The way this country has been split into fragmented interest groups recently has me a bit on the nervous side. It is nothing like the way I remember our drives to unite people in the 60s with various movements.

Gordon thankfully the most of the students in our era were more opened to diversity than the adults, I know from first hand experience. I was elected class president by the students, and welcomed into that community. Thanks for letting me participate once again.

Where is the tab for the Reunion Continues? I am curious to see what Mitch has to say. I didn't get a chance to say hello to him last month. If you read this Mitch, Hey. And since you are logged in Linda, how are you doing? Micah.

Micah,  it was on the side bar, but has now been moved to the top.

Mitch, Thank you. By the way, how was your trip home? Or, have you gotten there yet? If you have, I hope it was a great trip - Reunion and ALL. Oh! I am sorry I missed you at the Reunion. I saw you meandering amongst groups; but, being a little immobile, I couldn't get over to say hello before you would disappear. Blessings, Micah

Sorry I missed you as well  We were in CA for two weeks after the reunion.  Trip back pretty normal.  Bordeaux is into an Indian Summer mode.  Weather is great.  Maybe next reunion

Patricia, thanks for the wonderful album of Party Pix from the Beach Party.  Just now got a chance to peruse them.  Reminded me of a famous Four Seasons tune:  "Oh, What a Night!"

Who is the webmaster?

11/27/15 10:24 AM #215

Doug Bell

Our webmaster is Nancy Anderson Medeira.  She can be reached either through her Profile Page or through the "Contact Us" button on the left side of the webpages.

Nancy has spent hundreds of hours building our site and posting updates.  The day she volunteered to help the reunion committee with our effort was a real turning point.  I hope she know how much we appreciate her efforts.

Yes indeed, kudos to you Nancy.  This site is so superior to any others I have visited.  Best, RSF

Working on the Savanna Website has truly been a labor of love.  I have enjoyed getting reconnected.  I just hope that all of our classmates will continue to post to the website.  Keep the party going!

We're all children of the 60's so I suspect I'm not the only one suffering (enjoying?) this.

I was not able to get back for the reunion but having seen the pictures and read

everyone's responses; I can tell it went very well. Also,my thanks to our webmaster

Nancy and any others who have committed time and energy to keep the contacts open.

I enjoy reading all the responses. Though I wasn't well known in 1965, I hope to be moreso

fifty years later. If any classmates come to NYC, let me know and wee can meet for lunch.

Bring reunion pics if you can.

I just was going over past messages and found the one about Mtich's mother and French class our Senior year. I'm really thinking I should have taken French class instead of Spanish. At least I would understand some of my French genealogy ancestry notes without having to pick up my French dictionary all the time [LOL]. Blessings to all my "rebel" family; and BTW, I am proud to have spent money on a donation for our Rebel statue. I am also proud of our flag and rebel yell. Micah.

Jack Fiskin

The rebel flag and yell are a part of our countries history, it should never be forgotten.

With youi 100% on this one Jack.  Today's liberals want to re write history to make it "feel good"  The Civil War was more about economics and State's rights than slavery.  If not, please explain why slavery was still legal in the Northern states three years into the war.  Check your history folks.

A huge continued THANK YOU to Nancy for her continued work on the site.  Thanks for adding the "memory book"

Mike "Micah Ben-Yehudah" Gallegos

Thank you, Mitch. And you also, Jack, for reminding us of that fact.

As I posted earlier, I had the second surgery on the 23rd of November. Something went wrong, however. I cannot walk without the sciatic nerve shooting extremely painful surges up into the lower back from the right hip joint, then down from the hip joint, into the thigh and calf areas. I started physical rehabilitation two weeks ago. Don't know for how long, though. So, as it stands now, to get out of bed, I have to role out. I have to grab hold of a piece of furniture or I land on my face. Who knows, maybe a good fall from bed will give me a good face change (LOL). Anyway everyone, it may take a bit of hard charging but I'll get there.

Again, thanks for the well wishes. Micah.
